January 17 • Winter Party
A benefit for Children’s Home Society & Family Services.  Family and friends of children adopted from Russia, Europe and Central Asia join together to celebrate the culture and connect with other adoptive families. The day includes food, entertainment, activities, silent auction and more. Proceeds benefit the Russian Orphanage Assistance Endowment. 2  p.m. www.chsfs.org.  

January 24 • Walk to Cure Diabetes
A benefit for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  Come to the largest indoor walk in the country. Over 18,000  participants enjoy a morning of exciting entertainment, mascots galore and fun kids activities. The goal is to raise $1.9 million for  diabetes research. 8  a.m. Mall of America. www.jdrf.org/minnesota

January 31 • Vintages of Note
A benefit for WAMSO Education Programs.  An evening of exquisite wine, fine food and entertainment designed to celebrate the magic & power of music. Gather good friends & join WAMSO to ensure we continue to open the hearts &  minds of children throughout the Twin Cities to the wonderful possibilities of musical appreciation & performance. 6:30 p.m.  601 First Ave. N. Minneapolis. A benefit for Children’s HeartLink. Sponsored by Lunds and Byerly’s. Local and national businesses team up to help raise awareness and  funds for needy children with heart disease around the world. A benefit for Minnesota Chapter. Sponsored  by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
