The Minnesota Lynx start the 2008 season with a home opener against the Detroit Shock on May 18th. Rookies Nicky Anosike, Charde Houston, and Candice Wiggins look to continue their strong exhibition play and make this a season to remember.

The Minnesota State High School League has approved new mercy rules to be enacted this fall. In basketball, the clock will go to running time when a team has a 35-point lead in the final nine minutes of varsity games. In football, the clock will go to running time when the lead is 35 points in the fourth quarter.
