2007 Reggie Awards

The Reggie AwardsSM, which stand for Registered Builder, were created by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) to recognize the outstanding achievement by member builders in the design, quality, and value of their homes. Held in conjunction with the Parade of Homes Fall ShowcaseSM, participating builders enter their best new Parade HomesSM in the Reggie Award competition.

The entries were divided into single-family and association-maintained homes, and then into price ranges, creating 22 total categories. Armed with comprehensive judging forms, four industry professionals each visited the homes in their category. Judging forms are in a score-card type format, broken down to cover various aspects of the home’s design and construction quality, as well as rating the home’s value. Once all of the homes have been viewed, the four judges meet together to discuss the merits of each home, ensuring that the winner is truly the most deserving.

“The Reggie Award is a highly coveted prize to local builders,” explains Rick Kot, 2004 president of BATC and president of R.A. Kot Homes, Inc. “Winning a Reggie means your toughest critics—other builders—have judged your home to be the best in construction quality, design, and value. And, I was very thrilled to earn one this year.”

In 2007, a total of 94 homes were judged. The 22 winners are listed below, from lowest to highest priced. (All prices are based on structure price only.) The number preceding each builder name refers to their Parade of Homes Fall Showcase entry number.
