Party Touch-Up Tips

Oh the holidays, the snow, the lights, the cheer, and the parties. With a limited number of days between now and the end of the year, some celebrations overlap days and times. Occasionally the merriment begins after office hours, so being prepared to go from work to wonderful is imperative. Here are a couple of tips and products that can help you transition seamlessly.

Touche Éclat (above) is a concealer and complexion highlighter that makes you look rested and refreshed. It comes in an easy to use pen. Truly a beauty essential.

eyelinerEyeliner is the easiest way to intensify the eyes without looking overdone. The idea is to make the lashes look thicker and the eyes more alluring. There are a variety of ways to create this look.

For the novice, a small smudge brush (shown far right) and black eye shadow is perfect. Try the Sonia Kashuk smudge brush available at Target.

If you are a little more daring, try a liquid liner like Maybelline master precise liquid liner.

Whatever you chose, keep the line close to the lash line, moving from the inner to the outer corners of the eyes. When determining how far to extend the liner, use the natural curl of the lashes as a guide.

Finish up by touching up the lashes with a fresh coat of black mascara, and reapplying lipstick or adding a brighter shade of gloss.

A few other items to keep in the touch-up bag:

  • Eye drops
  • Breath mints
  • Perfume
  • Dry shampoo (try Oscar Blandi available in travel size at Sephora)

These few items can easily take the place of Cinderella’s fairy godmother and make you the belle of the ball.

Happy Holidays!
