Confession: My Bedroom is My Closet

When I moved into a new one-bedroom apartment last year, I decided to design my bedroom around getting dressed.

It was the first time I was going to live truly on my own and I wanted to embrace the freedom that came with that. So I hung my hats and jewelry on the wall, lined up my shoes, and taped up pictures of outfits that I wanted to emulate. Having the ability to access my entire wardrobe helps break up stagnant wardrobe patterns, increases rotation of of all my garments, and gives me a good idea of what pieces I’ll want to add to my wardrobe for each season.

It has also taught me to shop my closet more often. Seeing how many wears I’ve gotten out of one skirt has changed the way I purchase pieces, too! Not everyone likes to have their clothing sitting out, but you can also increase the functionality of your wardrobe by organizing by piece or by color.

So you tell me: how do you manage your wardrobe? Any tips or tricks?
