DeRushaEats: The Legendary Restaurant You've Never Visited

It’s embarrassing, right? You’ve never been to the legendary local spot that everyone raves about, or always sits on someone’s Best Of list.

A friend of mine, Star Tribune sports writer Michael Rand, admitted on Twitter this week that he was going to The Nook for the first time. Crazy! The guy has lived here for two decades, and never ate at the Nook.

But it got me thinking about my OMG YOU HAVEN’T BEEN THERE spot. Also a burger joint, also legendary: I have never been to Lions Tap in Eden Prairie.

I know, this magazine has extolled its virtues and named it a Best Burger, but I live in Maple Grove, and frankly, I don’t often have occasion to get down to EP. But I’ll fix it, I promise!

My other admission is The Lexington. Yes, you’ve probably heard that The Lex was sold (Jess Fleming at the Pioneer Press broke the news this week). My friend Pat Kessler loves the clubby atmosphere—a vibe that says, “St. Paul Deals Get Done Here”—but it’s never on my radar.

So let’s hear your admissions. Get it off your chest. Where’s the place you’re embarrassed to admit you’ve never been?
