FeMNist Day 2018 Un-Conference & Night Market: Celebrate International Women’s Day with a free afternoon of female-empowering events and activities presented by Nora McInerny’s Still Kickin and female co-working space, The Coven. Eight women will be selected to pitch their business ideas in front of a panel of women mentors for a chance to win a micro-grant for their project. Watch the pitches and stay for the opportunity to get advice on your idea. The event is followed by a night market featuring handcrafted goods by more than 50 female makers. My Sister’s International Women’s Day Pop-Up Weekend: In honor of International Women’s Day, Minneapolis-based brand My Sister is hosting a weekend pop-up shop. Be the first to shop the new collection by the brand, including its new “Year of the Woman” cropped tee; all purchases support after-card programs and provides growth opportunities for survivors of sexual exploitation. RAAS Local Market Reopens: Following its initial run over the holidays, retail incubator AAS will reopen with a new collection of Minnesota brands at the Mall of America. The second edition features 17 brands with goods spanning baked goods, beauty products, home décor, clothing, accessories, and more. Brands include Sota Clothing, Excelsior Candle Co., Strey Designs, and Hagen and Oats, plus returning favorites, Still Kickin and UrbanUndercover. Dinosaur Hampton Pop-up: Ethical fashion boutique Hazel & Rose hosts local design brand Dinosaur Hampton for a one-day custom embroidery pop-up. Designer Benjamin Kelly will be on hand to custom embroidery on shirts, bandanas, tees, and jackets on-site. Bring your own garment or purchase a vintage tee from Hazel & Rose for customization. (Embroidery starts at $10.) The shop will also be introducing an exclusive capsule collection in collaboration with a local poet. Mill City Farmers Winter Market: The weekly Mill City Farmers Market has gone indoors for the season. Style Show: Embrace Your Style: In support of World Down Syndrome Awareness Day on March 21, Arc’s Value Village hosts a fashion show that celebrates the individuality of each model, emceed by Michelle Raven (aka @thriftstylist) and event correspondent Anahita Champion.
