Nov. 27-Dec. 27: Shop Local Market at MOA: Starting Black Friday, Mall of America will make it easy to support dozens of local brands and boutiques without having to drive all over the state to find them. The Shop Local Market, located on the first floor of the north mall, will provide the entire family with everything from clothing and accessories to toys to seasonal snacks. This is the perfect opportunity to discover what may become your favorite local boutique! Nov. 28-29: Small Business Saturday Bash at Golden Rule Collective: This Minneapolis boutique is doing Small Business Saturday right by offering the first 75 customers a free espresso drink, courtesy of Coffee Cart Mpls. They’ve also invited Munster Rose and 2nd Truth photography to the store to collaborate on a botanical installation, which will serve as the background for a reservation-only portrait session this Sunday. Nov. 28: Northeast Farmer’s Market Winter Market launches: The long-running Minneapolis market is collaborating with Chowgirls Killer Catering to move inside for a limited run. Starting Saturday, you can find the market inside the Solar Arts building one Saturday per month with a few added surprises. An in-house DJ will be on hand to spin some tunes, children’s activities will keep the kids occupied while you shop, and pre-made food and cocktails will be available for purchase. Nov. 28: Meet the Designer: Caroline Hayden Sample Sale at the White Room bridal: Local designer Caroline Hayden will be in The White Room’s studio to answer your bridal questions and help you find the perfect wedding gown. Known for her fashion-forward designs, Hayden is an up-and-coming designer with an eye for cutting edge wedding day looks. Nov. 28: Shop Small Holiday Market in St. Anthony Village: Among the many Small Business Saturday events, this is one of the most accommodating. In addition to the 40+ local brands on hand, there will be free childcare available for those who can’t find a babysitter, and a complimentary yoga class to keep stress levels low. Brands at this casual shopping event include Cool Jerk, Bodylish, Wind & Willow Home, and Worker B. Everything from apparel and artwork to artisan food products will be available. Nov. 28: Midway Holiday Pop-up at Celtic Junction: Local brands, start-ups, and charitable giving abound! Adding to the shopping festivities are holiday carolers, kids’ activities (including a visit from Santa), a holiday bake sale whose proceeds go toward future Hamline-Midway events, and a Toys for Tots pop-up shop where you can donate new, unwrapped toys for children in need. Nov 28: Rox Jewelry presents Rox Stars Holiday Boutique at the Art House: Rox Jewelry joins other local artists for a charitable pop-up boutique at the Art House in Minneapolis. PRISM, a nonprofit organization that supports impoverished families, invites you to bring a non-perishable food item, gently used clothing item, or gift for a child in need. Mixed media artist Brandie Adams, photographer Steve Ozone, and vocalist Elena Hansen join jeweler Robyne Robinson at the event. When you purchase a donated item, 100% of proceeds go to PRISM. Nov. 29: Lauren Ericka Designs, Susan Stone, A Jar Mpls, Fringe & Fettle at West Elm Local: This local pop-up shop is meant to give start-up brands greater exposure. West Elm’s Edina location invites local brands to peddle their holiday wares, launching a permanent rotation of local makers and artisans who will debut in-store collections every month. Products include handmade clutches, mixed media photography, mason jar decorations, and ceramics from these local makers. Nov. 29: Bauhaus Brew Lab’s Made By Hands Holiday Handmade Extravaganza Part Two: After the success of last year’s event, Bauhaus is bringing back the holiday market twofold. Under a heated tent, this expanded “Extra-Vaganza” will feature locally made jewelry, woodwork, ceramics, knits, food products and more. Nov. 29: Minneapolis Craft Market: After last month’s kickoff, this craft market will be open every weekend through December 20. This month’s venue is Sociable Cider Werks. The market features ceramics, clothing, fiber arts, jewelry, photography, woodwork, and more. Five percent of proceeds each month are donated to local non-profit arts organizations, and a “scholarship stall” gives an arts education student the opportunity to participate in the market without paying for a stall.
