July 9–16: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: If you’re a Nordstrom Rewards member, you’re in luck: You have access to this annual sale—Nordstrom’s biggest of the year—before it officially begins on July 17. Prices go up August 3rd, so there’s plenty of time to take advantage of the deals. However, quantities for this pre-sale are limited. July 11: Cliché’s Annual Sidewalk Sale: Although the shop’s annual 4th of July sale is pushed back this year, it will still look familiar to Cliché’s clientele. Racks priced at $5, $10, and $15 will be full of clothes from this past season. The sale goes from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., but we recommend that you get there early for the widest selection of clothes. July 11: Minnesota Summer Wine Festival and Market: Come choose from a selection of locally-made wines from 20 of Minnesota’s own wineries. From noon to 5 p.m., each guest is entitled to purchase 6 bottles of wine at this festival, which also includes wine tastings, snacks, live music from local bands, and a sidewalk sale featuring merchandise from nearby shops. July 11: Annual MN Fashion Truck Fest: The second annual festival features clothing, jewelry, and accessories from several “mobile boutiques” (including Style a Go-Go, Zo Chic, and Village on the Go) as well as dessert vendors, live music, a photo booth, and an outdoor lounge. July 11: Art at St. Kate’s: Stop by and check out the work of more than 100 local artists at this annual fair, which takes place on the picturesque St. Kate’s triangle lawn. Co-sponsored by the Artists’ Circle and the Textile Center, the fair showcases everything from paintings to blown glass to handmade clothing and accessories. Support and interact with local artists and artisans—including redshoes26, Megan Moore, Ink Orchard, and more—and add to your own collection at this daylong event. July 12: ARENA Bikini’s Oasis Pool Party: This annual benefit for ARENA DANCES, a local modern dance company, is going poolside at the beautiful Calhoun Beach Club. In keeping with the theme, models will sport beachwear looks from local designers. Sponsored by AVIV Vodka, the event will feature a selection of cocktails, as well as a performance by ARENA dancers.
