Nordstrom Rack to Open 4th Twin Cities Store in Woodbury

Though rumors swirled in May that Nordstrom Rack’s fourth Twin Cities location would be at IDS Center in downtown Minneapolis, it looks like the next local Rack will open in a St. Paul suburb. Today, Nordstrom’s off-price retail division announced plans for a store in Woodbury’s new mixed-use development CityPlace, slated for a spring 2017 opening. CityPlace’s current tenants include Whole Foods, Sur La Table, and CycleBar, and also includes a Marriott’s Residence Inn hotel and office space for lease.

Nordstrom Rack merchandise comes from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com, and also includes specially purchased items from a number of Nordstrom’s most popular brands. The Woodbury store will be the fourth Rack store in Minnesota following locations in Bloomington at Mall of America, Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove and Shoppes at Knollwood in St. Louis Park. Nordstrom also operates two full-line stores at Mall of America and Ridgedale Shopping Center.

This new doesn’t count out the possibility of a Rack in downtown Minneapolis—though it does gives discount-loving shoppers in St. Paul suburbs cause for celebration.
