Best Bets for Beauty

Published:

I love all things style: home décor, fitness and wellness, fashion. . . but I cut my teeth in the beauty world, and I still find myself getting really amped over beauty products. It started when I was a wee lass, covertly applying Mary Kay eyeshadow in the school bathroom at second (yes, second!) grade.

One trend I'm loving lately are the oversized lip pencils, which deliver a lovely, moisturizing finish and long-lasting color. They're super easy to apply too—just like using crayons in second grade.

And the three winners in this category are:

Clinique's Chubby Stick

I've tried Richer Raisin and Mega Melon, and loved them both. Super hydrating, with a glossy, but not sticky, finish. $15.

Tarte's LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Stain

I love every color. Matte usually feels drying on the lips, but this is truly moisturizing. People always ask what I'm wearing when I'm wearing this. $24.

NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil

Smoothing, soothing, sophisticated. $24.
