In the Bag

I stopped in at the last W7 Collective event of the season last week, and it was so much fun! I highly recommend you go to one of the fall events. Inside the tiny West 7th Street space you’ll find tons of talented local artisans with their wares. Lots of great ideas for gifts and a totally easy way to shop local.

There, I met Kim Foss, one of the headmistresses of Carrie Cordelia handbags. I love that her bags are simple and functional, with minimal hardware. But what really caught my eye was this tie-dyed leather handbag.

Like tie-dye or lump tie-dye (I frequently lump it), it is cropping up in a lot of places this summer. But for me, this bag was different. What I loved was the unexpected mix of soft, sumptuous leather (seriously, it’s like butter), sturdy construction, and a theme reminiscent of ’60s sand and surf. Plus, orange and pink is one of my favorite color combos. I could see carrying this with an all-white ensemble.

Only 12 of these will be made—act fast. It goes for $188.
