My Guide to This Weekend's Local Holiday Shopping

Well my little elves, ’tis the season to shop ’til you drop. There’s a LOT going on this weekend, so without further ado, I present some awesome shopping opportunities to you!

Tonight:

Head on over to 526 Salon from 6:30-9:30 tonight for a little holiday gathering. Peruse perfect gifts from Irely by Sairey G., 3-Way Beauty, Annie Fink, Karin Jacobson jewelry, and makeup touch ups from Smashbox Cosmetics.

Joy Teiken is opening up her atelier for a sip and shop event tonight from 5:30 to 8:30 and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—check out her latest Joynoelle collection (Check out our review of her show), plus jewelry from Penny Larsen and wreaths by Black River Tree Farm. Many items are under $100, and there will be lots of Joynoelle sample sizes from past collections to snatch up, too. 312 W. 42nd St., Mpls., 612-209-7822.

Tomorrow:

Love From Minnesota is hosting a fab Minnetonka Moccasins event tomorrow at the Mall of America store from 1 to 4 p.m. Buy one pair, get another pair of the insanely comfortable, casual-stylish shoes half off! Free gift with purchase, plus enter to win one of three pairs of mocs for yourself—or for a gift for a friend!

One-Offs Yippee! Glama Gala is rounding up some of the Twin Cities’ best designers and artists for a night full of entertainment (burlesque, aerial work, trapeze, dance), drinks, and fun shopping. Included in the show is jewelry by Jennifer Merchant and M2 Designs, artwork by RedShoes26′s Christy Johnson, and clothing design by Christopher StraubArielSimone, and Foat Design. $15 at the door. Half the proceeds go to Open Arms Minnesota. Four Seasons Dance Studio, 1637 Hennepin Ave. S., Mpls.

The ladies at Mighty Swell are going strong with a four-weekend stand before the holidays hit. First 50 customers through the door will receive a Mighty Swell cookbook made by the Mighty Swell team. Additionally, there will be door prizes, including pop-up calendars from Red Stamp and serum from By Elizabeth Dehn. My personal shopping tip: The five-dollar grab bags would make a fun surprise gift for a friend or family member. Don’t miss it!

Gwen Leeds, Sheila Leiter, and Grant Whittaker will be offering insane style advice over at the Guild. Bring in a piece of clothing you already own but don’t know how to style, and the three fashionistas will  help you find items that will build on your already-existing wardrobe. People die for advice from these three—go get some free styling! I guarantee your turn with them will be a riot.
