Dress Rehearsal

I spent yesterday with the fabulously glam Stephanie Lake and Jahna Peloquin, because we’ve put our heads together to produce one of the most stylish events of the summer season: Dress Rehearsal, which is a benefit supporting the Boys and Girls Club of Minneapolis. Proceeds from the event go to a cause near to my former-band-nerd heart: art supplies and musical instruments for the kids. As we well know, these necessary and wonderful programs are being cut by the truckload, and especially unavailable to children who may come from challenging circumstances.

So, your $50 ticket buys you some excellent eye candy and glamorous party scenery, including: a high-fashion show featuring private couture collections from locally based fashion collectors (We’re talking vintage Dior, iconic Chanel, Gaultier, Cardin, and more) and local designer Emma Berg (voted one of my Best Ofs last year), with styling by Jahna and hair and makeup by Haus Salon (another of my Best-Ofs), a classic car show, a one-night-only jewelry designer Stephanie Lake (oh, and another of my best-ofs, are we seeing a pattern here?) and fashion designer Emma Berg pop-up shop, and a valet and car wash, which will also benefit the kids. Plus, food from Crave and drinks from Haskell’s. Yours truly will provide the commentary on the fabulous fashions as they parade down the runway.

And because I got a really good peek behind the scenes yesterday, I can tell you: This event is a don’t-miss, especially if you love to study the evolution of style.

Oh! And kids under 12 are admitted free of charge. Get the young ones interested in style and philanthropy early.

Get tickets here, or by calling 651-200-4107. Thursday, July 26. 6 to 9 p.m. See you there!
