Tonight: MNFashion Presents The Shows

Tonight kicks MNFashion week into high gear, featuring the first of The Shows, and tickets are going fast.

CounterCouture—which I wrote about this month in the magazine—and George Moskal are the two designers producing runway shows tonight at the MNFashion Atrium in Northeast Minneapolis.

CounterCouture is an eco-friendly upcycling collective, taking pieces that have already been made—drapes, bridesmaid’s dresses, you name it—and re-making them into something new, stylish, and wearable. Tonight’s theme revolves around Eloise, a children’s book character who infuses her style from Parisian chic, and who “has an air of elegance, but a flair for the dramatic.”

Moskal has long been a bright spot in the local fashion scene despite his young age, and he also is taking inspiration from the easy-chic of Paris, in his silhouettes, fabrics, and couture techniques.

Tickets are going trés fast for this first installment of the Shows, and will only be available until noon today, so get going!

Doors, 7 p.m.; show, 8 p.m. MNFashion Atrium, 79 13th Ave. NE, Mpls.
