Whether or not it looks or feels like it outside, spring is here. The calendar has officially given you permission to trade it your thoughts of snow and ice for ones of bright colors and blooming flowers. Bring those visions to life this weekend, with a trip to Macy’s Flower Show.
A nearly 50-year tradition, in tune with year’s theme, The Secret Garden, spectators will enter a majestic, dream-like garden filled with lush foliage, fragrant flowers, bold colors, scenic elements and hidden floral treasures. Sounds awful nice, right? The garden is composed of millions of live flowers, plants and trees from around the globe, designed by Bachman’s to bloom in unison despite their natural climate tendencies.
There will be plenty of events surrounding the show as well. On the first floor you’ll find the Bouquet of the Day, one-of-a-kind creations that reflect the theme of the show designed by floral artists from Bachman’s. There will also be a spring fashion show (March 22), culinary demonstrations (March 24-April 3), a floral topiary demonstration (March 26), garden party painting party (March 27), artist marketplace (March 28-April 4), family fun day (March 29) and fairy garden demonstration (April 4).
The show takes place in downtown Minneapolis’ Macy’s Eighth Floor Auditorium and runs March 23-April 6.
