New Summer Beauty

Published:

This week, rather than just tell you about what I like, I asked some of my favorite people to share some of their favorite products, and found a slew of new things to try. Here are their recommendations:

Hui Hui: Model, Karaoke singer
Hometown: Shanghai, China
Favorite product: Shu Fresh Pore Clarifying Gentle Cleansing Oil
Why? One product removes everything—eye makeup, foundation, powder—without stripping the skin of natural oils. “I love it and have used it for years,” she says.

Kim: Fashion/Wardrobe Stylist
Hometown: New York, New York
Favorite Product: Kiehl's Blue Herbal Moisturizer
Why? This oil-free moisturizer penetrates quickly and hydrates skin while helping to prevent breakouts—“Even at my age,” says Kim. It also has a matte finish, which diminishes the appearance of pores.

Isabella: Model, Artist
Lives in: Sweden
Favorite Product: Avene Redness Relief Soothing Cream SPF 25
Why? Moisturizer has a light green tone that neutralizes redness, ingredients calm and soothe the skin, and provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. “What more do you need?”

Christina: Makeup and Hair Artist
Lives in: Los Angeles, California
Favorite Product: Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen
Why? A makeup artist's secret weapon. It instantly diminishes shadows, fine lines, and imperfections, and can be used under or over foundation. Christina swears it helps reduce puffiness.

Jean: Wardrobe Stylist
Hometown: Seattle, Washington
Favorite Product: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free SPF 20
Why? It’s lightweight, has broad-spectrum SPF 20, and it controls oil breakthrough while hydrating to soften fine, dry lines. “It makes my skin look flawless without looking like I am wearing makeup,” she says.

Lori: Creative Director, Art Director, Designer
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Favorite Product: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
Why? It’s a lightweight balm/stain in an easy-to-use crayon format. It’s a perfect flush of color that comes in 12 vibrant shades.  “At such a great price I can buy all of them,” she says.
Lori’s favorite right now: Rendezvous (040)

Jenna: Fashion Wardrobe Stylist
Lives in: Los Angeles, California with Poppy (see photo)
Favorite Product: MAC Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner in Undercurrent (gorgeous teal with gold sparkle)
Why? This super-creamy eye pencil glides on the lid with an amazingly rich, intense color, and long-lasting wear. “I couldn’t believe how creamy this pencil is, and the color is perfect for summer,” she says.
